In reference to advisory issued by Dy SP Vishwesh Karpe, Calangute “Porvorim Police station that all big buses will have to be parked at the “Dolphin Circle” opposite the St Alex Church and the hoteliers are instructed that they should make arrangements to take their guests in mini buses to their destination. I live in Gauravaddo East near the “Ditoza circle” . From this point the roads are narrow and winding through the neighborhood where many multi residential buildings that have come up converted to temporary accommodation of tourist as guest houses or hotels. The hotels/ Guest Houses have no adequate parking space for buses to go beyond Ditoza Circle hence they are parked at the “No Parking Zone”. The advisory of Dy SP Karpe is of little or no avail and the violation continues with impunity nor any action has been taken by Calangute Police nor by the Calangute Panchayat on illegal parking. The internal road should be notified as one-way for large buses by the Calangute Village Panchayat Safety Committee in consonance with Traffic Police in the interest of public and of local residents.
