Only a miracle can help Jayesh win in Saligao

Former Goa Forward Party elected MLA of Saligao constituency Jayesh Salgaonkar, after repeatedly assuring his voters publicly of never joining the BJP, has now formally joined the saffron party thereby openly betraying the trust of the voters of his constituency. Of course, Salgaonkar on his part had earlier tried to rejuvenate his political career by suddenly instigating the voters of Saligao over the issue of expansion of the controversial garbage treatment plant (GTP) at the Saligao/Calangute plateau as soon as he was thrown out from the current BJP government in the state.

If Jayesh Salgaonkar had comfortably won on a Goa Forward Party ticket during the last assembly elections from Saligao constituency, then that's only because the voters were fed up with the performance of the former tourism minister Dilip Parulekar. Well, I personally feel that it won't be that easy for Jayesh Salgaonkar to get re-elected from Saligao constituency in the coming assembly elections even after joining the BJP. That's because the members of the former BJP Saligao Mandal Committee along with their workers have warned of putting up their own independent candidate to fight against him in the upcoming elections.
