Penalise contractors for incomplete road repairs

Ganesh festival is nearing its end, yet several of  the roads in Goa are in a dilapidated state, despite earlier warnings by CM Pramod Sawant that severe punishment wold be meted out to contractors and supervisory staff of the PWD for incomplete road repairs. The Goa govt is now awaiting the final audit report by the appointed agency  after which the Chief minister has assured of stringent punishment to contractors for unfinished  road repair work. The public should also be notified of action taken . Otherwise future warnings by the govt will be meaningless  and only serve to  dent the govt's image and credibility.

With cholera sweeping the Cutbona and Mobor jetties in South Goa, five migrant workers have reportedly lost their lives while 163 have been infected so far. According to health officials around 4-5 persons are getting infected every day. It is learnt that there is a gross shortage of toilets at the Cutbona fishing jetty.
