With increasing cases of cyber bullying, gaming fraud and mental-health issues, parents here often feel helpless while tech platforms escape accountability. While a full ban may not suit India, strict age verification, time limits and digital-awareness programmes can help reduce risks. Childhood should not be shaped by constant scrolling and online comparison. A safer digital environment is now a basic requirement, not an optional reform.
