The recent incident involving a male student parading in underwear during the annual cultural festival at the Goa University is a shameless incident. The Goa University is always under some controversy or scandal. Each time there is a controversy, they try to hush up the matter. In the past there have been instances of controversy and scandals, questions about the university's handling of sensitive matters like question paper leaks. These incidents have raised concerns about the integrity of the education system and the fairness of competitive exams. The youths should adhere to the tradition of tolerance and respect and protect its pluralistic culture, while empowering themselves with the right skills and attitude. And this is possible if universities focus more on academic enhancement. The aim of the university should be to work hard, aim high and take it to forward. Today the entire higher education system is directionless and unable to respond to the socio-economic and political challenges India faces. Brain drain is another major challenge for our country. The system cannot attract the best talent in India because they migrate to foreign universities for better educational opportunities.
