Blatant misuse of police plates by domestic tourists

Of late, it has become a regular feature for domestic tourists to use bright red police plates on the windshields of their cars while entering Goa. This modus operandi is basically used to hoodwink the police and other border authorities so that they are not checked. This is very dangerous, as terrorists or other anti-social elements can enter the state, carry out their nefarious activities, and leave undetected.

Ironically, a tourist taxi with an MH number was found parked at Anjuna with a police board on its windshield, and when a press reporter asked the occupants if there was any policeman among them, they began giving vague answers, saying the police officer was at home in Maharashtra. The Home Minister should instruct the police to take strict action against such cars by impounding them and heavily fining the occupants so that it acts as a deterrent before any unfortunate incidents take place.
