Another year passes by but Mhadei, mining issues unresolved

While a tormenting year comes to an end, we are entering 2021 which again are days of uncertainty with no one knowing how the current raging pandemic will pan out. May the Almighty give us all the strength to brave whatever is in store confidently and with a positive mind.

Goa moves into the New Year with a host of unresolved issues. People have been protesting against several projects which are not in the State’s interests. Yet another year passes by with the crucial Mhadei and Mining issues unresolved.

An already cash-strapped State exchequer has now been further burdened by the pandemic. There is absolute need of stern austerity measures and a strict curb on all needless wasteful expenditure. Transparency and accountability in governance must prevail at all times.

Those in Power at all levels must vow to protect what remains of Goa and the environment which is badly battered. Politics needs to be a mission with dedication and not a lucrative profession to rise from rags to riches.

The people of Goa need to work unitedly to ensure proper progress and prosperity of the State. We need to witness that glorious day when Goa will be truly liberated from injustice, corruption and nepotism, all sadly a way of life today.
