Nowadays, everyone gets an offer or package. Mostly those that get offers or packages are those that make a noise about something. Again the bigger the influences the more often it is that they seek help.
The point in question here presently is the nature of the bailout or relief package offered to the telecom industry by the government.
The reason is that some of them are in trouble. That most of these problems relate to their past sins, involving non-compliance, financial jugglery etc is being overlooked.
The overriding concern is that they are in trouble now and need to be 'saved'. Whether they will be saved at all is debatable if not doubtful.
It is a known fact these telecom operators had been ruling the roost without caring for their customers. Nobody in the government ever questioned them over the deficiency in service or the sleight of hand tactics that they use.
They got away with all that, since they provide 'essential service' that of helping people to talk to each other. And, the government needs them since they need to talk to the people.
This cannot be avoided and this is what the telecom industry exploits.
