Between February and March 2022, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Manipur will be going to the polls and between November and December it would be the turn of Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat. Already the chess moves have begun in Goa and every few days the convenors, desks in-charge and campaign overseers of various national political parties are in Goa. Now is the time for the sore losers and defectors of the previous election to curry favour and if possible, return to their original party. Some sitting MLAs and seat aspirants who are knaves, may show their true colours once the elections are over. All such prodigal politicians are to be kept at arms’ length because the common people would become the proverbial fattened calves before being sacrificed at the altar of democracy once a government is formed. Be wary of the poll dances, alliances, disagreements, etc. that you see between the parties and politicians. Tolerate these drama kings and queens, do not show your cards but keep an ace up your sleeve during the election day!
