This is with reference to the report, "India to remain fastest growing economy in the world - The Goan Everyday February 1, 2023." India to remain fastest growing economy in the world according to the Economic survey, say the headlines. India's GDP is also projected to be higher than 6.1 per cent. That may sound like some piece of good news for the economists, for the government, for whoever it may benefit but, at the end of the day, what is that to the common man, to the middle class? What does GDP mean to the common man, who is struggling to keep himself afloat? The Budget has been presented, what does the budget mean for the common man? As usual, there will be discussions & debates in the national media. What is the end result? The youth, the middle class, are struggling with employment issues. The common man is struggling for one square meal a day. All this talk of GDP & budget looks good only on paper. We need to look at the dark realities of life. Can we hope for some action on the ground?
