Some of the Covid patients with comorbidities are dying within 24 hours. Why? GMC Dean says they come in late. In some cases, the patient believes it is minor cold, not Covid-19. Such patients cannot consult a doctor. Why? GMC has not provided such a helpline. In times like these, we need answers and solutions. First, people are not comfortable with the lack of hygiene at Covid hospitals. Next, private hospital rates are very high. There is no emergency helpline and assistance if a person finds his oxygen saturation level has dropped. Can he or she get assistance at 12 mid-night? Is it not his/her right to get this help? What is this emergency number? The way we are behaving it is like we are resigned to the fate that the elderly and those with comorbidity are destined to die. We are not doing anything about it. Comorbidities are ailments that are treated by doctors on a regular basis. During wars, it is only the soldiers who risk their lives. During this Covid war, it is only the doctors who can be the real soldiers. They are shirking their responsibility.
