The late Sushant Singh Rajput’s death and the current revelations of Kangana Ranaut speak have opened a can of worms and brought the use of drugs among the young into focus. The trail of the SSR’s death investigation reached even Goa, which has also gained notoriety for drug use and rave parties. Goa too needs to raise its guard against drug use among youngsters. Scientifically, taking drugs when young can interfere with the developmental process occurring in the brain. Children in school should be made aware of the consequences of doing drugs and to always stay on guard. Working parents should make time to see what their children are doing and spend more time with them. They must know who their children’s friends are and their family background too.
