Farm bills were pushed through undemocratically

The Agriculture Bills passed by Parliament amidst strong opposition by many parties intended to reform the sector have evoked widespread protests from the farmers who are being told they will benefit from them. And the way the Bills were pushed through was not democratic. It has said that farmers will have more freedom and choice than before. The farmers were not consulted on the matter. The laws are intended to modernize farming and the farm market. The Bills are per se unconstitutional and beyond the legal competence of the central government. And the intent is clear that the government wants big corporates to get into the business of agriculture. This is about the lives and livelihoods of crores of farmers across India. There is a lot of anger among farmers. This farm bills would lead to discontinuation of MSP and the dismantling of APMC markets.
