Finally, Colva beach in the limelight for a good reason

With regards to ‘Colva beach gets a makeover’ (The Goan Everyday, December 04, 2021).

It is heart warming to note that ahead of Union ministers’ visit to the world famous Colva beach, efforts are on to clean Goa’s beloved beach.

Had Colva beach been able to speak, she would have said, “Today I am the happiest girl on earth. Finally, the powers that be have realised my true worth. For decades now I have been attracting and entertaining tourists from world over. I have only given my visitors - who fall in love with my enteral beauty at first sight - joy and satisfaction in abundance. Without ever expecting anything in return. Today some high profile ministers have decided to check me out. For the occasion, I am being decked up like a bride. Finally good days have arrived. Viva elections!”

No politician who’s stained by crime should be in power

Needless to say, those who are in power and are involved in crime should be punished according to the law of the land as they are supposed to be exemplary in their behaviour and thus should not be spared, particularly because they have betrayed the mandate of the people who elected them. No politician who is stained by crime should be allowed to remain in power. In fact they should be disallowed from contesting elections. The courts should be decisive in their verdict and…
