Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has reportedly said that the people of Goa are the real VIPs. He said this while taking potshots at the opposition for its constant criticism on Covid. Well, if what Rane has said is 100 per cent true, then how come politicians are always admitted in all the top private hospitals even for minor treatment? Sometimes they also go to foreign countries for advanced treatment at the cost of the taxpayers' money, whereas 'aam' Goans are forced to get admitted and rot in some shabbily run government hospitals like the GMC. If we aam Goans are the real VIPs (as claimed by Rane) then why are we always being used like garbage or treated like "use and discard" toilet paper in times of sickness?
I think that our politicians should first learn to lead by example. They should walk the talk to win back the trust/confidence of all the Goans and not issue fake statements. By now most Goans know who the actual VIPs are. Goans are important to the government only at election time and on the day of voting.
