Bollywood actors are supposed to be role models, but of late they have been showcasing skewed priorities for the greed of money. Actors Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgan and Shah Rukh Khan have landed themselves into legal trouble for promoting the gutkha and pan masala brands. Recently, Akshay Kumar was also seen in a pan masala ad. After his fans disapproved of the ad, he apologised in a statement.
In Goa, we have seen our government too promoting gutkha and pan masala ads on the State’s Kadamba buses. While on one side the State is making a case for a healthy state, on the other side it is promoting things which are the cause of several diseases. Hope better sense will prevails.
