The NEP will be implemented from the 2026“27 academic year, shifting from the “10 + 2” system to “5 + 3 + 3 + 4”. For its success, course content and teaching quality must improve, focusing on civic sense, life skills, and cultural awareness. Multiple boards and private tuitions create inequality in education access. Professional courses need updates to match current job demands. The commercialisation of education must be addressed to ensure fairness. Greater public investment is essential to make education more affordable and accessible, offering equal opportunities to students from all income groups.
