Need to modernise the education system

The Indian education system requires modernization. Whether one blames the colonial hangover, regional frictions, deficient leadership, chaotic administration, insufficient regulations or apathetic faculty, the system must strive towards maintenance of standards and a balance between total autonomy and over regulation. Presently, the curriculum adhered to in almost all our institutions of higher education are prosaic and archaic. The curriculum should match changing times and be devised enriching the campus experience of the learners in its entirety including cognitive, emotional and spiritual domains of learning.

A total of around 7 bills were passed in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday in a matter of just 3 hours without the opposition present, without question hour, without any debate and without the bills sent to select committees for scrutiny.
