A senior citizen had a lucky escape when he and his cycle felt into the PWD valve chamber which does not have a cover and it is within the road shoulder of the MDR -6 road near late Dr Bandodkar's building and Agnelo Carvalho's house. This is a very busy road in Siolim during this peak season for the tourists who drive carelessly along the road. The villagers are put to great inconvenience and have to face such types of mishaps which can be fatal. I hope the PWD officials (Phen) will inspect all such opened chambers and fix the covers before we lose any precious lives due to such negligence on the part of the Department officials.
