Generally, white stripes are painted over the road at pedestrian crossings in the state. This assures safety to innocent pedestrians to a great extent. However there are locations wherein the said stripes have been missing at the pedestrian crossings. One such instance is near public café in the vicinity of old bus stand in Ponda. This happens to be a most strategic location and absence of white stripes turns detrimental to the lives of pedestrians wishing to cross the road at regular intervals. I hereby request the concerned authorities to take a note of above and arrange painting of white stripes at the said pedestrian crossing so that pedestrians are assured safety on a permanent basis. Let us hope that prompt favourable action would follow at the earliest.
