Recently, the stretch of road leading from Almeida High School towards Ravi Nagar at Khadpabandh in Ponda was hot-mixed. Speed-breakers have been erected for the benefit of innocent travellers. However, as of August 14, traffic signboards (indicating presence of speed-breakers) were found missing. The situation is rather dangerous for travellers, in particular, pillion riders proceeding along this strategic location. The situation is bound to worsen during the night and a two-wheeler rider proceeding in full speed is likely to get involved in a mishap near the speed-breaker by losing control of the vehicle. Innocent travellers need to be assured safety on a permanent basis. It is thereby absolutely necessary for the competent authorities to install the much-needed signboards at the earliest. White stripes should also be painted on a priority basis. This would assure safety of travellers.
