Considering central government's decision to scrap vehicles that are more then 15 years old the first plant is inaugurated at Madkai. The MIRAAI has set up recycling plant which will scrap both government owned and private owned vehicles which are more than 15 yrs old. The procedure will be that authorities will inspect the vehicle and deal with the owner and then same will be brought to plant for recycling which will scrap 97 per cent of vehicle parts . The plant is first of its kind in Goa and there is demand for scraping of old vehicles. Many old two wheelers and four wheelers are lying unused and same can be sold to such a scrap plant. In Goa we can see many vehicles government owned and private owned vehicles on road side abandoned. This plant will solve the problem of scrap vehicles lying in one's house . The government has also announced tax scheme for such vehicles which are scrapped. The said scheme will provide facility for the locals and government to discard vehicles lying about in both public places and individual houses.
