When the New Year Eve celebrations were subdued across the world, Goa went into party mode inviting misery upon itself. Seems like the Goa Government has blundered by permitting these celebrations without any restrictions whatsoever. Throwing caution to the wind was the last thing expected of the government. In neighbouring cities like Mumbai, heavy restrictions were imposed and citizens obeyed the guidelines set by the government. Covid-19 is still alive even though 2020 has ended. This irresponsible act on the part of the authorities and the people themselves may prove to be disastrous not just for Goa, but neighbouring states as well. Better be safe than sorry.
