Those going kayaking should have experience

Six Indian tourists were rescued from drowning by lifeguards in three different incidents at Palolem in Canacona. Three men from Maharashtra, who went kayaking at Palolem fell into the water and struggled to stay afloat. In another incident, a 34-year-old man from Bhopal was rescued. In the third incident, two youth from Solapur were saved. A kayak is developed for the sport of paddling on waters of lakes, bays and the oceans. The question that arises is how safe is kayaking for someone who does not have any experience in the sport. A life-jacket will do no good if the person gets separated from the kayak. The problem one has to encounter in the sea while kayaking is waves. Most waves in the sea are under three feet and easy to navigate, but it can be extremely difficult to handle big waves which can lead to the kayak capsizing. Most accidents happen because paddlers are inexperienced and lack technical skills. In order to prevent any untoward incident only those with experience in paddling should be allowed to go kayaking in the sea.
