Goa should learn from what America went through during in the last one month or so. On November 17, 2020, the infection tally in America was just a shade above 1,50,000 per day. A month later on December 18, 2020, the number of patients that contracted the Covid-19 coronavirus had increased by 1,00,000 infections to reach 2,50,000 per day, a quantum jump. While tourists and locals are participating in the Christmas celebrations, it would be prudent to exercise maximum restraint and maintain social distancing, wear face masks and use sanitizers as well as frequently wash hands as also desist from crowding in one place. A situation should not arise during the Christmas week wherein there is a substantial increase in the number of infections which could also lead to a rise in fatalities.
