A ladder to success in life

On 1 January 1972, under the leadership of the first President, Dr Manuel Sequeira, the Chandor Club Talent Programme was started. The aim was to give the youth of the village a platform to show their talents and overcome their fear of performing on stage.

Many contestants who took part in the Talent Programme have gone on to become successful professionals, including well-known singers and musicians. The programme is held every year on 1 January, marking the beginning of the New Year. Over the years, Chandor Club has faced several challenges, especially related to musicians. However, even during difficult times, the event has always been well organised and successfully managed.

A heartfelt thanks to Chandor Club, all the participants, and the wonderful audience who took time out of their busy schedules to make the Talent Show a grand success and create lasting memories.

This year’s musicians were Ramiros Mascarenhas, Veron Andrade, Hermengildo Andrade, Xavier Furtado, and Richard Rodrigues. Special thanks to all the participants: Willy Mendes (Alfred Rose of Chandor), Anthony Pereira (Star of Chandor), Kistod, Evril, Daniel, Alroy, Venzilla, Amelie, Angelica, Haylin, Suzie, Princeton, Mevik, Lionel, Wayne, and Meloyra.
