A modern day Akbar and Birbal tale

There is absolutely no point in analysing the West Bengal elections given that the entire poll was rigged from the start. The data that people and experts are analysing is from a rigged election, thus it does not matter what the conclusion is. There is also no use in doing caste- and religion-based parsing. The entire exercise has been fudged to deliver a specific result, and all tools that could be used by the government have been used. There is a popular folk tale where Akbar had challenged his court to make a line drawn by him smaller without erasing any part of it. Birbal simply drew a larger line, leaving Akbar flabbergasted.

Besides, in this case, the Election Commission had ironclad instructions to erase that line altogether and also increase its length with fake voters. It did this masterfully and, expectedly, the judiciary slept over this murder of democracy. So, let us concentrate on the murder of democracy angle and how it can be prevented in future, but that would be a very tall order given the stranglehold the government has over every constitutional body and uses them to serve its malafide interests.
