Alternative needed to paid holiday for voting

Goa declared a holiday for those workers who are native of Karnataka but work in Goa for their assembly elections. There is mixed reactions on this across the state. Industry feels that the one day holiday will effect work and production and delivery of services. Some are of opinion that it's one's right to vote and hence they should be allowed to go and vote. Today there are options of postal ballots, online system, etc hence some feel this option could have been chosen to cast the vote. Only 3 days earlier  Goa had panchayat elections held in Ponda and many had holiday to vote on the day. Government should come out with solution and one of the best option is to have such elections on Sunday or on public holiday. Voting is a constitutional right and one cannot be denied his/her right to vote. It's Karnataka today then it will be Orissa or Maharashtra and workers belonging to their States will again ask for holiday to cast their vote.
