Assaults on visitors tend to give Goa bad name

Goa is witnessing a rise in assault cases in last one week. On Jan 31 night, one tourist from Andhra Pradesh was assaulted and killed by  Marina shack staff at Calangute beach. On another day five tourists from Mumbai were assaulted by a guard and waiters of Planet Goa bar and restaurant at Calangute on petty issue in which one is critical and admitted in GMC for treatment. The rise in assault cases over petty issue has given negative impact to Goa's standing. Goa known for being a tourist destination has turned out to be an unsafe place.  There has to be law and order in all the shacks and bars. All shack owners should be informed not to take law in their hands instead call the police to solve the same. In another shocking incident three women were arrested by Colva police for creating nuisance and assaulting pink force women cell police on duty when they tried to intervene. There should be strict action to prevent such incidents in future. In Goa it seems that anybody can come and do anything they want. Such attitude should not be encouraged.
