Attack on police exposes their vulnerability

The two assaults on police personnel in a week exposes the vulnerability of the police force and the law and order situation in Goa. Such attacks on police personnel highlight the dangerous situations police can face in the line of duty and also it can have a detrimental impact on police officials morale and can lead to increased stress anxiety and even job dissatisfaction.  Yet the Goa government continues to claim that the rule of law prevails in the state.  It's a natural for the public to question the police effectiveness. Moreover those challenging the police should face bullets and  there is freedom to carry out encounters if the situation so demands  in self defence or for crime control.  The police should nab all involved in attacks on police and ensure stern punishment through speedy trial.  Nobody behind crime, irrespective of who they are, should be spared. Attack on police is not tolerated and criminals should be taught a lesson in the language they understand.
