A consumer awareness programme was held at Chandor Panchayat hall which was organized by Goacan and GBE. Goacan convenor Roland Martins gave the people of Chandor information about the consumer rights in Goa. Consumers have rights for safety, right to be informed, right to choose, right to be heard, right to seek redressal and right to consumer awareness. It was shocking to know how the gas companies are cheating us by selling cylinders by less weight and expired date. The shop owners should not take any products from the local people who are selling their products without having registered number and expired date on it. As per the packaged commodities rules, the following information is mandatory. The full name and address of manufacturing, date of packing and expiry or use by date, net weight and MRP. Chandor villagers have invited Goacan to come and check all the shops products along with concerned department teams. In case of conciliation, address your complaints to The Chairman, The Consumer Conciliation Committee, Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, 1st lift, 2 Floor, Junta House, Panaji, Goa 403001.
