Ban lengthy material on two-wheelers

Often we come across instances on the road wherein lengthy material such as aluminium, wooden ladders, pipes, mirror glasses are being transported on two-wheelers.

The situation is quite dangerous and proves fatal not only for the concerned occupants, but also for fellow travellers and pedestrians proceeding along the road. In Ponda, such instances are quite common and two-wheelers often proceed along the strategic locations such as the old bus-stand, Tisk and also at Upper Bazaar.

However traffic cops often overlook such cases and the practice of carrying lengthy materials continue with great ease. Precious human lives must be assured safety in this serious matter. The RTO and also the Traffic Cell should take a note of instances like that of above and issue cash fines on persons carrying such material on two-wheelers.

Such a dangerous practice must be banned on a permanent basis. Let us hope that the authorities would initiate prompt positive action in this regard in public interest. Of course, human lives need to be assured safety at all costs.
