The news of horrific accidents everyday has again brought into focus the responsibility of those behind the wheel.
Our roads are crowded with vehicles with more and more people buying cars and bikes. In one family there will be a minimum of one car and two bikes.
Buying vehicles is not the problem. We need to obey traffic rules and wear helmets and use seatbelts. We also need to understand that alcohol and driving do not mix.
The government on its part should ensure pot-hole free roads with proper signboards. It is noticed that several roads are in a horrible condition and lack proper signboards.
In Chandor, there are no traffic signboards at prominent junctions. At several places roads have been done up but the old signboards are still present which leads to confusion among drivers.
It would be prudent if the concerned authorities take up this issue urgently which will not only resolve the confusion among drivers but also will help to curb accidents.
