It looks like a close contest in Bihar. The NDA and Narendra Modi believe that “Operation Sindoor” will secure enough votes for the BJP to form the government. But there could be surprises if the “vote chori, gaddi chhod” slogan gains traction.
Under Tejashwi Yadav, the RJD appears strong. The Mahagathbandhan has projected him as its chief ministerial candidate before the polls, while the BJP has not named one. With the Congress fully backing Yadav and him leading from the front, the alliance has a good chance”especially if the Election Commission ensures a free and fair poll.
If turnout does not rise significantly, a change of government is likely, with the NDA voted out. One hopes these elections do not go the way of Haryana and Maharashtra. If Bihar returns a hung Assembly, Prashant Kishor could play a decisive role, which may then give the NDA an upper hand.
