The poison of hatred is spreading like wildfire in our country. It cannot be extinguished by fighting hate with hate.
Catholics cannot remain mute spectators to the raging fire of hatred which will ultimately consume everyone. Let us lead by example to douse the flames of communal hatred and violence. Let us act now, "for faith without works or actions, is dead" (James 2:14-26).
I suggest that whenever there is a religious procession in any of our towns and cities we can stand in front of our churches and shower the processionists, irrespective of their community, with flowers and petals.
Hopefully, the small gesture, will lead to other communities to join in and gradually the flames of hatred will die down.
