Closure of the Dabolim airport is imminent

Some BJP leaders (which includes CM Pramod Sawant) are still seen bluffing the people of Mormugao taluka by saying that the Dabolim airport would continue to operate in the state even after seeing a number of domestic and international airlines already shifting their base from Dabolim Airport to the new Manohar International Airport. Well, wasn't this Mopa airport brought here in North Goa with the sole intention of slowly shutting down the Dabolim Airport and to finally gift it to the navy in Goa? The concept of two airports has never worked in Indian states and one of the two airports has always been made to shut down due to low footfalls. I therefore think that the people of Mormugao taluka/South Goa instead of questioning the BJP leaders over the Dabolim Airport issue should blame themselves for not questioning their own past leaders (especially from Salcette and South Goa) from the erstwhile Congress party all these years because it is they who had supported the Mopa Airport project right from day one to somehow slowly shut down the Dabolim Airport for their own personal selfish gains.

Sawant misses no opportunity to crow about Goa being the no 1 state in…
