Colva p’yat need to act on illegalities

It’s widespread knowledge that many villages in Goa are seriously affected by poor water supply mainly due to rampant construction approvals for swimming pools, residential complexes etc where the panchayats indiscriminately issue licenses.

Colva, also is seeing water supply issues and many wells are polluted! Has the Colva Sarpanch, Panchas and the secretary taken this into consideration and the future implications to Colva, before issuing construction licenses?

There is a current High Court ban on multiple dwelling units and the Colva panchas it is alleged have deceitfully found ways to still approve residential complexes by combining plots.

There is also a hotel with swimming pool that has got clearance from the Panchayat, BDO etc when there is a current ban on such type of constructions.

Colva Sarpanch, Panchas and Secretary should take responsibility as custodians of the village instead of being complacent on the threat to the sustainability of village and the decent living standards of its residents.
