Curb alcohol consumption in the open as some persons are using smart city premises at backside of Patto Govt Quarters, Panaji in day and night. Even it is seen in morning especially by the ragpickers/labourers and in evening people taking alcohol on the roadside in front of the Patto govt qrtrs at panaji. Drinking in the open, especially at night, has reportedly been going on rampantly in some of the corners of residential colonies in Patto area, Miramar, Campal, Caranzalem and Taleigao. Mapusa is a disgusting eyesore. Booze flows like water available from every corner. Several complaints have been lodged by the people and senior citizens that youngsters carry on their binge drinking even at jogging areas by the road sides. However, these youngsters give police the slip by the time they reach the spot and move to some other lonely spot to continue with their drinking sessions. The drinking of liquor in public sees a lot of youth purchase liquor from retail shops and consume it sitting in public places. Authorities should control drinking in public places by tourists and others, which is becoming a nuisance.
