With all ISL matches held in Goa, did the locals finally benefit vis-a-vis the hiring of buses and taxis for the various teams?
Also, was there any benefit to the Sports Authority of Goa which had leased out the grounds to the organisers and the teams to conduct the tournament and for practice matches?
It is reported that 3 football grounds had been used by the teams. These grounds will definitely see wear and tear. Did the SAG make any profit?
Despite the games being held behind closed doors, traffic was not allowed around these grounds during match days putting residents and public to inconvenience.
When you inconvenience locals and more so with higher risk to Covid infection, it is interesting to know what the benefit was to the respective authorities.
The same goes for IFFI. Not only is the ‘venue’ hired out for a pittance, but all the ‘tamasha’ to keep inconvenienced locals silent, are actually paid for by the local government.
There should be some accountability happening especially when such big events take place in the State.
