Canacona a huge taluka in South Goa, with a population of around 40,000, having 8 beautiful villages named Agonda, Cola, Cotigao, Gaondongri, Loliem-Polem, Poinguinim and Shristhal with a town, Chaudi. What does 'Vision Canacona - 2030' mean to Canconkars - A mission is to empower villages and rural communities to become partners of sustainable development, through grassroot level initiatives. Having said this, Assembly Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar, the main organiser-motivator of this programme, quickly appointed Dr Manoj Kamat to coordinate a meeting then in June 2022. The mission was reinforced by Higher Education Director Vijay Kamat, Art and Culture Director Sagun Velip and Canacona Dy Collector/SDO Ramesh Gaonkar, besides Executive Engineer (Electricity), Dy SP(SDPO), Canacona and local Congress representative Janardhan Bhandari amongst others attended the meeting in which the bureaucracy was explained about the concept of Canacona Vision-2030 document. The Canacona Vision 2030 endeavour is to make every village self-sufficient, enabling all it’s inhabitants to live a dignified life, contentedly, realising their full potential in healthcare, education, hygiene, harmony, human values, An appeal to Canconkars "let's make Goa proud by setting this beautiful example of Canacona Vision 2030 reaching its Goal."
