As a retired pensioner from a private company, I feel the Finance Minister and the State government have done nothing to consider the issues that have been long raised in the previous many years in Parliament. Our MP from North Shripad Naik was handed a letter in this regard for the computation of EPS-95 pensioners; sadly despite holding a minister's portfolio he did not even call our Union ZACLEU to discuss the issue. This is how the middle class is treated in this country. Thanks to the MP of Kerala NK Premanandchandra from RSP Kollam has again taken up this issue in the Lok Sabha. The EPFO has been wrongly calculating pension on pro-rata basis and pensioners have suggested that the monthly pension is revised by including the inflation factor similar to the government employees. The Union ZACLEU Committee has also filed a PIL in this regard in the Bombay High Court, Goa and the matter is dragging for some months now. I appeal to the new South MP Capt Viriato Fernandes who is our only Goenkar hope to take up this matter in Parliament with the Finance Minister and Labour Minister.
