Goa sees rise in crime

Crime in Goa is rising because many offenders have poor mental health. An idle mind is a devil’s workshop. The recent acid attack has shocked the people of Goa. Today, Goa faces a worrying increase in crimes such as acid attacks, rape, murder, drug trafficking, cyber crimes, burglaries and more. Criminals have no fear and are freely committing crimes, making Goa seem like the old Bihar. When criminals do not get strict punishment, they feel encouraged to repeat their crimes. Others who see this also get motivated to follow the same path. A strong plan is needed to tackle the growing crime. This should include more police on the streets, help from the community and better laws. Goa is losing its image as a paradise because of rising crime. Despite some efforts, lack of staff and weak crime control measures have slowed progress. The police should start an e-beat system to help reduce criminal activities.
