The recent remarks by the Supreme Court on how long the Governor or President can hold on to bills passed in the assembly or Parliament has sparked some unwarranted remarks from the Vice President of India and one MP, all from the ruling BJP. Does being in majority allow the ruling parties in power to make laws without taking into consideration debates and the necessity of upholding the Constitution of India? The controversial Electoral bonds supported by this same party after being challenged in Court was scrapped. For this very reason the Supreme Court has judges who are totally free from political affiliation. Presidents, Vice Presidents and Governors who are nominated by parties or own affiliation try all means to strike down bills without applying their minds or they sit with the bills for months and years. They are mostly party influenced to take decisions and many a times hamper the development of the opposition states, all to the detriment of the Constitution of the country. Justice delayed is justice denied and that also applies to the judiciary system.
