Govt heaps more misery on common man

This is with reference to the report "Pre-packed labelled food items to attract GST - The Goan Everyday June 29, 2022." Yet another blow to the common man already reeling under rising inflation. High cost of cooking gas has already killed the joy of cooking at home. And now pre-packed labelled food items will attract GST.  When the common man would like to go out for a change with a modest budget, he would now have to think twice because hotel rooms before Rs 1,000 per day, will now attract GST! With bank interest rates on savings & FDs at a pathetic level, GST now becomes applicable on cheque books. Banks are operating on people's money and what do the people get in return? So, where are we headed? Will the government please tell the common man how he is supposed to survive? GST, instead of becoming Good & Simple Tax is turning out to be a 'Greedy & Sadist' Tax! It seems like the government gets sadistic pleasure out of seeing the common man suffer. The caption puts it aptly, it's 'taxing times for common man'.
