The Indian team does not seem to have learnt a lesson from earlier disastrous tours and the conclusion of the matches against Pakistan and New Zealand. The problem with the Indian team is that they are a pampered lot and they think they are playing IPL for the franchise and not for the nation. The way they played the first two matches showed the team lacked killer instinct.
Thank to the overzealous fans and the media hype as the players are more keen on concentrating on endorsement deals , leaving a lot to be desired when it comes to their performance on the field.
The present day cricketers would do well to remember cricketers like GR Vishwanath and the spin quartet who brought glory to the country without endorsing any produict. When representing one’s country the greatest honor is to live to the expectations of the millions of fans who have made cricket their religion.
