Internal strife in Congress: Get rid of opportunists

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Amit Patkar has reportedly issued a show-cause notice to party MLA Adv Carlos Alvares Ferreira for indulging in anti-party activities.

Patkar's primary grievance is Ferreira's attendance at the birthday celebration of Curchorem BJP MLA Nilesh Cabral. Well, it looks like Patkar wants to somehow throw Ferreira out of the Congress party by making baseless/wild allegations against him to secure his own political career and further his own political agenda in Goa.

Now, what wrong has Ferreira done by attending the birthday celebration of Cabral (whom he regards as his close friend) on "personal grounds"? Has Ferreira committed a crime or made any statement during the birthday celebration saying that he's leaving the Congress and joining the BJP very soon in Goa?

I think that opportunist, self-centred, and selfish leaders like Amit Patkar and Yuri Alemao, in particular, should be immediately thrown out of the Congress party because, instead of trying to bring unity among their few remaining elected leaders, they are seen promoting groupism within the party, indulging in these childish acts and trying to spoil the prospects of this grand old party in the state to help the BJP in the next assembly elections in Goa.
