Khandola roads in bad shape

The condition of the roads in the State is deteriorating day by day with large stretches developing potholes.

With rain fury in the last few days, the hot-mix layer has been washed away at several places leaving most of the roads unmotorable.

A case in point is the Priol constituency where the condition of the roads is pathetic. For people travelling on the Khandola highway it is a nightmare. The situation has been witnessed for quite some time with authorities even failing to patch up the potholes. At some places the roads have turned into death traps.

Tenders worth lakhs of rupees were issued more than four times to repair and hotmix the road. But it looks as if there was no work done.

The government must launch a probe to find out who is responsible and whether any money was misappropriated.

It may be recalled that during the tenure of Deepak Dhavalikar, roads were well maintained. One wonders whether these roads are purposely not repaired by respective authorities.
