Konkan Railway: Boon or bane?

The Konkan Railway is a boon for genuine travellers, as it allows people to travel to different parts of the country with ease and reach their destinations comfortably.

But many people also see it as a bane because anti-social and criminal elements can enter Goa, commit robberies, assaults, and even murders, and then escape quickly since trains to various destinations are available almost every hour.

This situation was not common before the Konkan Railway started, when only two or three trains left Goa each day. Development is important, but it should not come at the cost of human lives.

Film buffs are keenly looking forward to the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which will be held in Goa from Nov 20 to 28.
