Kudos to the good work done by GMC doctors

This is with reference to the news report' CM overrules Rane, says doc won't be suspended' (TGE, June 9).  CM Pramod Sawant needs to be complimented for his speedy and timely  action in defusing the volatile situation that erupted at the Goa Medical College (GMC) hospital after the unprecedented and shameful display of power arrogance by the Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, that resulted in the suspension of the Chief medical Officer (CMO) Dr Rudresh Kurtikar. While Sawant has unequivocally proved to be the boss with the final say, it was largely due to the public outcry and 48 - hour ultimatum given to the Goa government  by the various Medical Associations  that the CMO was promised to be reinstated by the Chief Minister  after  a public apology by the health minister to the doctor and  his family. It is hoped that the good work carried out in the GMC by a team of dedicated doctors will continue to heal the sick and suffering, and there are no more cases of irrational acts in future by those in charge.
