Saligao MLA Kedar Naik along with his supporters have threatened to block garbage trucks coming from South Goa to dump their garbage at the Saligao garbage treatment plant (GTP) citing many valid reasons i.e. air pollution, foul smell etc and for causing a real nuisance for the Saligaokars/people living in nearby areas. Why? Wasn't the above nuisance creating garbage treatment plant atop the Saligao-Calangute plateau brought by the late Manohar Parrikar led BJP government? Then, why is Naik not talking directly to CM Pramod Sawant with regards to the above serious issue and sorting out this matter once and for all rather than issuing his threatening statements to score a few brownie points for himself by doing this latest drama in Saligao?
Well, the people of Saligao are not fools, they are smart enough and they know why Naik is suddenly heard raising the above issue. Yes, it is to distract them from his own major failures, from the massive destruction caused to the roads of Saligao and problems for motorists and commuters since the last two years.
